The Heart of the Marketplace: Footprints and Foundations in this third month of our Thirsk Community Journey, I’ve spent time simply standing in the Market Place, watching the town’s unique ‘social living room’ in action.

There is something deeply healing about the rhythm of our Monday and Saturday markets - it’s where the best kind of authentic relating happens over a shared brew or a bag of local produce.

It’s the independent spirit of our shopkeepers and the quiet peace of the Cod Beck walks that make Thirsk a place of such natural beauty. Yet, as we walk this path together, we must also notice where the cobbles become a barrier.
